Over the holiday season last year, we asked you to nominate someone who deserved a special organic treat. You sent in some amazing nominations, highlighting friends and family who are passionate about health and work hard to give back to their families and communities. Two lucky aspiring chefs in the US and Canada won a day with organic chef Mikaela Reuben - and a kitchen full of organic food.

Our first winner was Jenipher from Terrace, BC. As an experienced crafter and gluten-free baker, Jenipher was keen to learn how to cook more recipes, focusing on her dietary requirements and trying out Mikaela’s tips.
“I learned so much about flavour profiles and new preparation methods to meals (hello zucchini and carrot ribbons!). Now, I can take the food that we eat and give it the most amazing makeover!” Jenipher said. “I will continue to share the love by cooking for friends as often as I can…through nutritious and delicious food!"
In the US, Tiffany in Minneapolis was nominated by her good friend, Kris. After Tiffany’s husband had a stroke, Tiffany has made her family's health her top priority. Kris saw this contest as an opportunity to gift this young mom a chance to learn more about healthy cooking from an organic chef.
Tiffany said, “She showed us how easy it can be to eat organic and healthy. Mikaela also taught us several other tips and tricks we can use in our everyday lives. We had a wonderful time cooking and chatting together!”
